Applicant’s Information
To help you better understand the Super Visa requirements, we have outlined some answers to important questions you may be asking yourself.
A Super Visa offers Canadian and permanent resident families the opportunity to reunite with a parent or grandparent who lives outside of Canada for up to two consecutive years. It’s also a visa that provides multi-trip entries for up to 10 years.
As part of the application process, applicants must confirm they have:
* A minimum of $100,000 CAD in emergency medical travel insurance coverage in place for at least one year after arriving in Canada.
* Proof that the medical insurance premium has been paid.
* A signed letter from your child or grandchild, inviting you to Canada and a promise that they will be able to provide financial support.
For more details on the application process, please visit Immigration and Citizenship Canada.
For a full and updated list of requirements, please visit the Government of Canada’s website.
Canadian residents may purchase medical insurance on behalf of their visiting family member(s) who are part of the Super Visa program, and should be aware that if they have sponsored their stay, are responsible for their medical bills in the event that they are unable to pay.
The cost varies according to the applicant’s age, the policy length, medical history, and the amount of coverage. For couples, purchasing an insurance plan together may be cheaper than buying as individuals.
To be eligible for a Super Visa you must prove that you have sufficient medical insurance from a Canadian insurance company.
We offer up to $25,000, $50,000 or $100,000 in affordable emergency medical coverage for visitors to Canada. A Super Visa applicant is required to purchase a plan with $100,000 in emergency medical coverage to qualify for their visa application. If you are staying in Canada for six months or less, any of the other plan coverages will cover your stay. Here are some of the benefits offered with the Visitors to Canada Plan?
